Just when you finish your graduation and are living a nomadic life, trying to figure out things , living with a chaotic mind set and almost spending half the time travelling from one side of the city to another trying to keep your passion alive, you sense a feeling of satisfaction in the middle of the chaos.
Kadar Khan’s Sheesha was just the kind of place one wants to experience in a chaotic life. Sufi nights by Sufi stories in the background, some exceptional food on your plate and a beautiful ambiance giving you a soothing feeling through your experience at Sheesha!
Sheesha, Pune is the 6th outlet by Chef Kadar Khan who started the brand in 2000 after the idea of “Mirror on your needs”. A property accommodating 170 and an open air ambiance with pretty white cabanas suitable for an intimate experience with friends and family, Sheesha had our heart and mood set for the rest of the evening with its overall vibe.
With a variety of 350 dishes to choose from a North Indian and Awadhi Mughlai cuisine, we found the the vegetarian and non vegetarian platter as an appropriate option to try from the starters.
- Platters : The non vegetarian platter consisted of a variety of starters served hot on a sizzler plate perfect for this rainy season ! The hot kebabs containing Murgh Malai , Murgh Jalandhari , Murgh Mumtaz , Murgh Seekh Kebab and Gosht Kebab had beautifully cooked meat and the variety served had flavors differing from each other. The platters are a wonderful options for large families or a group of friends to indulge over long conversations.
- Main Course : The main course was a selection of various dishes from the Gosht, murgh and vegetarian menu. The Dal Bukhara (definitely stole the show with its comforting flavors and hence we could not stop asking for more! The main course was not as amazing as the starters but the quantity served is to suffice for and the aromatic flavors definitely need to be given a try ! Gosht Tawa Chaap had tenderly cooked lamb and is definitely recommended to all ! The Gosht Dum biryani was a little salty for the palate but the Biryani was perfectly cooked and the portion served was satiating!
- Drinks : The Goan Mojiti and the The Sheesha Trip were the personal favorites from the bar menu ! The Sheesha Trip is definitely a perfect drink for you if you enjoy Baileys ! The bar menu is pretty affordable and does not dig a hole in the pockets.
- Desserts : Sheesha’s take on the Shahi Tukda had me indulged till the last bite ! This one is a soft Bread crumb that has three types of rabdi soaked beautifully ! The phirni on the other end was also a beautiful blend of ingredients . The Avadhi Lahsoon ki Kheer has a tinge of garlic smell and is an interesting combination.
Sheesha has an ambiance that can set your mood right on a relaxed evening with good food and affordable rates ! They have various events like Mehfil – e – Qawwali Night, Sufi Night, Unplugged musical nights amongst few others. Talented artists take the stage and entertain guests at the property offering an environment which will create a distinctive dining experience while one explores the finest traditional North Indian cuisine. I would like to thank Shivangi Shah from Carpe Diem for inviting us to witness such a beautiful evening !
